Massage therapists should use the Penetrating oil in conjunction with a high quality lubricating oil. Using the Moor Oil on its own may cause too much friction and pulling on the tissue, as it displays the unique penetrating quality common to all Moorlife products. Therefore, for optimum results, it should be used after the body/muscles have been prepared with Moor Bath, lamps, or warm towels. Then apply the Moor Oil directly to the application area, using the appropriate amount of pressure. Once the Moor Oil has been evenly distributed and absorbed into the tissue, continue massaging with a high quality massage oil of your choice.
*Note: To use essential oils in conjunction with the Moor Oil, first apply a very light amount of Moor Oil to the application area using both hands. Then mix the chosen essential oil with a few drops of Moor Oil on one hand. Rub both hands together and apply evenly to the application area before introducing a massage lubricating oil.
Aromatherapists should apply the primary essential oil directly to the body as described above prior to soaking in a Moor Bath, with the secondary oils being added sparingly to the Moor Bath approx. 5 minutes after entering the warm bath water.
Acupuncture, Reflexology, Chiropractic, Osteopathy: Where preparation of the treatment area using Moor Baths is inconvenient or impracticable, valuable assistance to therapy response can be achieved by using the Moor Penetrating Oil as a preparatory agent.
Beauty Therapists can employ the Moorlife Penetrating Oil in the following ways:
- As a protective barrier prior to steaming or sauna. (Body Milk or Moor Silk Cream should always be used after steaming/sauna).
- To establish a protective barrier in the surface layers of the skin following treatment, shaving, or depilatory waxing.
- As a massage oil - on it’s own, or under the Moorlife Mask - for facial acupressure massage.
*Note: Do not apply near the eyes.
For use at home: Use as described above for beauty therapists. But more importantly, the Moor Oil should be used as part of your weekly maintenance program to maintain a healthy oil barrier in the upper layers of the skin. For this reason, we recommend applying the Moor Oil all over the body after a hot shower or relaxing bath once a week. Working this into your weekly routine can perhaps be easily achieved by using the Moor Oil after you wax or shave the arms/legs. Remember to cleanse using the Cleansing Bar (to soften the hair and smooth the skin), tone with the Skin Toner, then shave/wax, and finish with the Oil (or Body Milk if a stronger moisturiser is required).
Because of it’s high concentration of Moor Essence - the active ingredient of all Moorlife Products - it plays a significant role in maintaining tone and elasticity of the deep tissue layers and connective tissue, and therefore should be used by women several times weekly around the bust, waist, buttocks and thighs. Best results in this area are achieved by applying the Moor Oil to the entire body prior to using a sauna or steam bath.
What is the difference between using the Moor Oil and the Body Milk? There are two primary differences between the two products - the concentration of Moor Essence, and the moisturising action. The Moor Oil is designed to take advantage of the deep penetrating action and concentration of the Moor Essence first, and less as a moisturiser. In fact, the Moor Oil provides more of a “moisture barrier” to keep moisture and essential oils in the skin, rather than providing moisture for the skin. The opposite in true for the Body Milk. The Body Milk is primarily a deep penetrating moisturiser first, while still displaying the benefits of the Moor Essence - but to a lesser degree than the oil. For this reason, the oil is most often the product of choice in professional/therapeutic applications. At home, one would most likely use the Body Milk daily and the Oil weekly or every few days.
